On Sunday, July 13th runners will once again compete in the 9th annual running of the Amber Pizzo Memorial 5k in Berkeley Heights NJ. Working with service agencies, faith-based organizations and Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the Foundation supports research based educational programs designed to reduce the incidence of alcohol related fatalities.
Every 53 hours someone in New Jersey is killed by a drunk driver, while hundreds more sustain serious injuries. Every 53 hours in NJ, hearts break for a loved one who won’t ever come back home because of drunk driving. The financial and emotional cost associated with drunk driving is staggering. Yet it is entirely avoidable. Educating students and parents about the importance of making responsible decisions regarding alcoholic beverages and the dangers of underage drinking does make a difference. But we can’t do it without you.

Registration is $20; day of event fee is $30.
Walk Like MADD is an opportunity for individuals and teams to participate in a healthy, fun activity and help their community at the same time. Drunk driving statistics demonstrate the critical need for these walks.
Drunk driving remains the primary threat to American families on our roadways.
One in three people will be affected by an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime.
Drunk driving is 100 percent preventable and together we can eliminate it for good. Walk with us.
