The Amber Pizzo Memorial 5K & Fitness Walk honors the memory of a young teacher who died after being struck by an automobile driven by a drunk driver. Amber was a committed advocate for the educational needs of our youth who will be our leaders tomorrow. The Foundation in her name seeks to continue the work Amber began but was unable to finish after her life was suddenly and tragically ended. The Foundation assists in developing and funding peer leadership and educational programs within Union County as well as sponsoring efforts to reduce alcohol related fatalities throughout New Jersey.

Walk Like MADD® is a non-competitive community walk that raises funds to support Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD)’s mission of eliminating drunk driving, supporting the victims of this violent crime, and preventing underage drinking.
With every step taken and dollar brought in, walkers help raise money and awareness to support MADD’s life-saving mission to keep American families and communities safe.
Registration is $15 for those ages 5-21, and $20 for those who are 21 and over. Day of event fee is $30.
Walk Like MADD is an opportunity for individuals and teams to participate in a healthy, fun activity and help their community at the same time. Drunk driving statistics demonstrate the critical need for these walks.
Drunk driving remains the primary threat to American families on our roadways.
Every day in America, another 27 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes.
In 2010, 211 children were killed in drunk driving crashes. Out of those 211 deaths, 131 (62 percent) were riding with the drunk driver.
One in three people will be affected by an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime.
Drunk driving is 100 percent preventable and together we can eliminate it for good. Walk with us.
